Luke Lenski, a resident of Dillon, Montana, died unexpectedly on March 3, 2025 at the age of 36. Luke is survived by his wife, Kelly, their daughters Camden and Brooklyn, his siblings, Nik and Bianca, his mother, Theresa, and his Uncle James.
Luke was born to Theresa and Joe Lenski. He grew up in Monument, Colorado and graduated from Lewis Palmer High School in 2007. With a desire to follow his passions, he attended the University of Wyoming, majoring in Animal Sciences, and graduated in 2011.During his senior year, he was awarded Outstanding Student of the Year for his dedication to the Department of Animal Sciences.
On October 10, 2020, Luke and Kelly were married at St. Rose of Lima parish. Luke gained a daughter in Camden, who he always considered his own as witnessed by the many weekends spent together at rodeos, barrel racing, and tending to their shared love of horses. With much joy, they welcomed their daughter, Brooklyn, in July of 2023, whom Luke was eager to spend many years as her father. These girls were the twinkle of his eye.
During his professional career, Luke achieved the consummate degree of horsemanship, cattleman-ship and managing livestock on three of the larger ranches in Montana. He achieved the highest level of mastery and experience in his profession. Luke was one of the lucky ones who got to do what he loved, and called it work. Luke was an absolutely tough cowboy.
Luke had an easy going and generous nature, which resulted in many long and lasting friendships. He had a passion for his faith, his family, the wilderness, ranching, his animals and hunting. He experienced great peace in the Bob Marshall wilderness. His daily life and world vision was from the back of a horse, albeit ranch work, his ardent life of fishing, or packing his horses into the rugged beautiful mountains of Montana.
A funeral service is scheduled for March 20, 2025, at 10am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic parish in Dillon, Montana.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial account titled "Luke Lenski Memorial Fund" has been opened for Kelly, Brooklyn, and Camden at the Bank of Commerce in Dillon, Montana.
If you have any photos or letters you would like Kelly and family to have, there will be a basket at the funeral luncheon. If you would like to share digital photos, letters, or memories for Luke's family, you can send them to [email protected].
