Luke Yetzer Obituary

Luke A. Yetzer, 36, formerly of Mansfield passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 9, 2025.

Luke Yetzer was born on August 27, 1988, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Mark and Alfretta (St. Clair) Yetzer. A proud graduate of Madison Comprehensive High School, Class of 2007, Luke went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Walsh University.

An accomplished athlete, Luke was especially proud of being named a 2nd Team All-Ohio Pitcher in 2005. He continued his passion for sports beyond college, playing recreational softball and basketball, and traveling across the country to play golf on some of the most legendary courses. His love of travel extended beyond sports-he cherished exploring new places with family and friends, especially in the mountains where he could hike and fish.

Professionally, Luke excelled as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Informa Business Solutions. His commitment, leadership, and drive were evident in all that he did.

On August 18, 2022, Luke married the love of his life and best friend, Kara, in a breathtaking ceremony at Glacier National Park. Together, they built a life in the countryside of Marengo, Ohio, with their beloved dog, Gerry. Their joy grew with the arrival of their son, Cameron, who quickly became the center of Luke's world. A devoted husband and incredible father, Luke looked forward to sharing his passions and values with his son and watching him grow.

Luke was the kind of person who always showed up-for his family, friends, and anyone in need. His kindness, loyalty, and generous spirit touched everyone he met. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of almost 3 years Kara (Yingling) Yetzer; son Cameron; parents Mark and Alfretta (St. Clair) Yetzer; brother Zachary (Megan) Yetzer; sister Emmaly Yetzer; Memaw Jane Yingling; in-laws Tom (Kathy Dunnerstick) Yingling, Jody (Jake) Hupp; sisters-in-law Kelly (Johnathan) Tinsley, Katie Yingling; nieces Ruby, Kaia, Kamille, Laila; nephew Ari; and his amazing dog Gerry; many special aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by nephew Taylor Yetzer; grandparents Robert and Gloria Yetzer, Harold, and Betty St. Clair.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 17th from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Herlihy Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue West with a Rosary being recited at the conclusion of calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 18th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 60 S. Mulberry Street. Burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kara Yetzer for the Cameron Yetzer College Fund, or National Parks Conservation Association, support.npca.org.

Mark and family... I am so sorry for your loss. Some of my favorite memories were watching Luke and Michael play baseball for Madison. Always enjoyed our talks at the many fields they played on... Luke was a fine young man... My thoughts and prayers are with you all...
