When I heard about Mrs. Johnson passing. It brought me back to memory lane when they lived in the Ben Hills area of Southwest Atlanta. My parents (Andrew and Eunice Starke) and the Johnson came from the Phenix City, Alabama area. So, our families would break bread together after church on Sunday. At Easter time, we would went to Stone Mountain park for the Easter Egg Hunt. There were many times where our families would get together to have fun.
Mr. Nathan Johnson and family, the Starke Seven sends love and prayers on your loss.

My sincere condolences to my dear family in their loss. I was deeply saddened by the news of Lula's passing. She will ever be missed by all those that had the pleasure of knowing her. I will always remember the times that my family spent at her home. She was always a gracious host and her smile and laughter always filled her home. Her biscuits and preserves were always a treat and the stories that accompanied them always made you feel warm and welcomed. I know her cousin Betsy was waiting with open arms for her when she made it to heavens gates. Good night cousin Lula, I'll see you in the morning.

I would like to send my sincere condolences to Nathan Johnson and the Johnson family. Lula was loved by all she knew. Her meals were things talked about for years. We could not come south without stopping by the Johnson's home and getting some fig preserves she had at the house. I know she and my mom are up in heaven talk about their husband and sharing stories. My heart is saddened by her passing, but I rejoice in knowing she is resting in the arms of the Lord.
