Lula Strasburg Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home from Jun. 30 to Jul. 1, 2025.
Lula M. Strasburg-West, 89 of Jefferson, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at her home.

She was born on April 18, 1936, on her family farm in Sullivan, WI, the daughter of John and Mae (Brom) Northey. She attended Palmyra High School and married Roger Strasburg, and the couple had 2 children, enjoying 35 years of marriage until his death in 1989. On January 21, 1992, Lula married James West in Jefferson and married for 15 years, until his death in 2004. Most recently, Lula and her companion Glenn Lambright spent the last 15 years of their golden years together. She spent many years working on the family farm, both in her youth and first marriage. She was a homemaker the remaining time in her life and she did it well. Lula was a polka dancer, and she apricated making new friends dancing the polka! Playing card with the "neighborhood gang", is how she liked to spend weekends! An avid gardener, she grew many flowers and vegetables, sharing those with the people she loved. Lula LOVED life, and her family very much. She was known to make friends very easily, socializing with people along the way, and she will be dearly missed!

Lula is survived by: her daughter Judy Runge of Jefferson; daughter-in-law Audrey Strasburg of Jefferson; grandchildren Becky (Dan Renteria) Runge, Gabe Runge, and Vincent Runge; great-grandsons Tivo and Anthony; and companion Glenn Lambright. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She I preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son Dale "Ernie" Strasburg, her 6 siblings.

A celebration of Lula's life will be from 2:00PM – 5:00PM, on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at La Vista in Jefferson – the same location as her son, Ernie's celebration in 2023.
