Lupe C. Rodriguez, 84, of Houston, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025. Born on October 25, 1940, in Houston, TX, she was the daughter of Thomas R. Cadena and Marie (Martinez) Cadena. Lupe was married to Martin R. Rodriguez, who preceded her in death on November 30, 2007. Their bond was cherished, and she now joins him in Heaven.

She is survived by her children: John Rodriguez, Mark Rodriguez, Sarah Kubena and her husband Kenny, and Danny Rodriguez and his wife Sylvia; and by her sisters: Geneva Carillo, Louise Dockens, and Delores Busboom. Lupe was a devoted grandmother to Amber Kubena, Cristina Rodriguez, Victoria Leon, Ryan Rodriguez, Jordan Rodriguez, Brandon Kubena, and Jenna Kubena, and a loving great-grandmother to Landen Sanders, Zhane Greene, Khane Green, Nehemiah Rodriguez, Violet and Lilah Leon, Adriana and Diego Rodriguez.

Her special gift was caring for children, a talent that touched many lives. As a childcare provider for most of her life, Lupe offered gentle encouragement and warm hugs that comforted countless children. Many became part of her extended family, returning over the years to visit. Her grandchildren recall how she an in-charge grandmother but always with love. She loved bringing everyone together for the holidays, filling her home with laughter, memories and stories from her youth.

Lupe loved walking, reading Christian books, watching old western movies, and above all, spending time with her family. Any moment with little ones brought her joy.

Her faith and compassion guided her through every challenge, and her legacy of love will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched. She showed us what it means to truly care for others. Lupe's love remains a guiding light, forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her.
