In loving memory of Luvena Lucinda Quinata, who graced this world from October 1, 1978, to March 31, 2024, Easter Sunday. Born on the island of Guam, raised in the village of Humåtak, Luvena carried the spirit of her island roots throughout her life's journey. She leaves behind a legacy of unparalleled determination, generosity and love. In her later years, she settled in Tacoma, Washington and pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Social Services while undergoing dialysis treatments for so many years. She had an amazing grit to keep on going never letting much slow her down.
She is survived by her loving mother, Priscilla "Mama Chilang" Quinata; her devoted spouse, Christopher Hendsdell; their beloved son, Kili'kopelaMikala "Kili" Aguon Quinata; her step-children, Nyrya, Neleo and Ninia Moses; and her loving fur babies, Chico, Nikki, Koa, keahi, kamea, and Kia. She will be deeply missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and friends.
In her journey beyond, Luvena joins her stepson Nakai Moses; grandparents, Tata Faustino "Tino" A. Quinata and Nana Rosa "Chocha" Babauta Aguon Quinata; niece Alexis "Lexi" Duenas; cousin Frankie Nauta; and her aunts and uncles, Juanita Quinata, Rosalina and Francisco Nauta, Jesus and Espreciosa Quinata, Rosita and Gil Leon Guerrero; and godfather John Quinata.
In remembrance of Luvena's vibrant spirit, a memorial will be held with close friends and family. Mass intentions will be offered at:
San Dionisio Parish in Humåtak, Guam on April 21, 2024 @ 9am pacific time.
St. Francis of Assisi in Yona, Guam on April 21, 2024 @ 7am pacific time.
St. Louis Catholic Church in Maryland on April 27, 2024 @ 8am eastern time.
We ask our family and friends for your prayers and mass intentions for Luvena. May her memory be a source of comfort and strength to all who knew her, and may she rest in eternal peace.
