Many memories of Mrs. Ulrickson in her classroom across from the old gym. The way she taught made math make sense. May she Rest In Peace.
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be ever at you back
May the sunshine warm upon your face
And the rain fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May god hold you, may god hold you
Ever in the palm of his hand

Auntie Luz was a schoolteacher at Paco Catholic School in Manila before Cathedral High School in Texas. We were still little kids when she would always play with us, make faces, and be funny all the time. She was a socialite who financially supported most of her siblings through college. One day, we saw her off to her cruise ship adventure. The humongous boat towered high over my smallness as I looked up at it with awe. She did not make it back. Instead, we learned that she got married in the United States. And there began her new journey towards greatness. I send her all my love and wish nothing but happiness on her eternal journey home.
