Lydia Christine Hill Barnett, 100, gracely passed away on June 17, 2025, surrounded by loving family in Land of Lakes, Florida.
Lydia was born on December, 23, 1924 to Everett and Ida Hill in Waco, Kentucky, who preceded her in death. She moved to Irvine, KY, where she met her husband of 65 years, Homer T. Barnett, Sr. They wed and moved to Louisville, KY, where they had three sons and a daughter. They settled in Jeffersonville, Indiana and raised their family there.
Lydia’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children, wife of Homer Jr., Sue Barnett, Bill (Marcia) Barnett, Mary Jo, (Jim) Coomes, Larry (Paula) Barnett, nine grandchildren and great grandchildren and a brother, Bob Hill.
She is preceded by husband Homer T. Barnett Sr., a son, Homer T. Barnett, Jr., her parents Everett & Ida Hill, brothers Edgar (Bill) and Donald Hill and sister, Beulah Hill.
Visitation will be Thursday June 26, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Friday, June 27, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. with funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard lane, New Albany, IN 47150.
