LYDIA HALI LOVE
Lydia Hali Love, age 12, of
Roosevelt, Utah, transformed into a beautiful butterfly and fluttered away on December 3, 2025.
She was born on December 18, 2012, in Vernal, Utah, to Curtis Michael Jensen and Sandra Chatwin. Raised in Roosevelt, Lydia's colorful, joyful, and deeply sensitive spirit touched everyone who knew her. From infancy, Lydia displayed an uncommon intelligence and attentiveness
listening to adults with curiosity and understanding far beyond her years. Compassion came naturally to her. She cared for people and animals alike, instinctively noticing those who were hurting and lifting them with kindness and encouragement, including her own family.
Creative to her core, Lydia loved drawing animals, making dragon puppets, crafting, singing, and pretending especially as a cat. She invented games, wrote stories, made videos, and was in the process of writing her own novel. Her imagination was boundless, and her laughter was wonderfully contagious.
A 7th grader, Lydia enjoyed martial arts, tumbling, dancing, and swimming. She was on her way to martial arts when she passed meeting the ultimate test of a warrior with courage, strength, and a victorious spirit. Lydia also had an entrepreneurial spark, selling lemonade and handmade animal masks, and dreaming up new ventures. She delighted in simple joys: Buenos candy bars, Dr. Pepper, and trips to her favorite soda shack, Beachin'. She made friends easily and
was loved by everyone.
Recently, Lydia grew especially fond of butterflies symbols of transformation and freedom. They now remind all who love her of lightness after heaviness, color after darkness, and the gentle way a soul continues on.
Lydia's life was brief, but her impact is everlasting. We will carry her joy, her compassion, and her bright, imaginative spirit alwaysand in every butterfly, we will feel her near.
She is survived by her mother, Sandra Chatwin; her stepfather, Mike Haviland; her father, Curtis Michael Jensen; her stepmother, Royeal Jones; her older brother, Rhylen Schurz; her younger brother, Zayin Janjay Jensen; her stepbrothers, Earl, Cameron, Douglas, Taylor and Benjamin; her grandmother, Rozella Chatwin; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Jerry Chatwin, and her beloved older sister, Jaydlen Schurz.
