Lydia Gonzalez May

New Iberia - A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Pellerin Funeral Home for Lydia Gonzalez May, 38, who passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022.
Entombment will be in the Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette.
Rev. Alexander Albert will officiate.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home.
A resident of Jeanerette, Lydia was born on December 29, 1983 and was a 2003 graduate of Jeanerette High School. She was employed with Community First Bank and had previously worked for First National Bank of Jeanerette. Lydia enjoyed camping, fishing, frogging, cross stitching, watching tv and most of all spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Davey May, Jr; daughters, Kayla "Kaywa" Derouen, Madilynn "Madi" Derouen, and Carmen "Tater Bug" May; father, Juan Gonzalez Ruiz; mother, Sharan Bernard; brothers, Jason Foland, John "T-Juan" Clements, Derrick Bernard and Javier Gonzalez; sister, Denia Gonzalez; special aunt, Carolyn Medina (Tomas); and her husband's parents, Davey and Patricia Smith May, Sr.
Lydia was preceded her grandparents, Mary Foland, James Clements, Irma Gonzalez and Santos Ruiz.
Pallbearers will be Bill McNett, Harold McNett, Javier Gonzalez, Billy May, Joshua May, Barry Thompson, Chris Medina and Sean Moore.
Honorary pallbearers include Davey May, Sr. Juan Gonzalez Ruiz and Tomas Medina.
The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana, Dr. Georgios Constantinou and staff, her sister-in-law, Claire Bourgeois; and her husband's parents, Davey and Patricia May, Sr.
