Nacida el 15 de noviembre de 1928 en Cayey, Puerto Rico, nuestra querida Lydia León Rivera, a quien sus hijos llamaban con ternura "May", falleció el 9 de noviembre de 2025, en North Arlington, New Jersey, a la edad de 96 años, dejando una huella imborrable en todos los que tuvimos la dicha de conocerla.
Fue una mujer serena, sabia y de gran temple, dedicada por completo a su hogar y su familia. Su vida fue ejemplo de amor incondicional y profunda fe.
Viuda de Don Teófilo León, fue madre de diez hijos, y su legado vive hoy en cada uno de ellos, en sus nietos, bisnietos y tataranietos, quienes continúan reflejando el amor a Dios y la fortaleza que la caracterizaron.
Aunque su partida deja un gran vacío, su espíritu y su enseñanza permanecerán siempre con nosotros.
Descansa en paz, May. Tu amor, tu fortaleza y tu fe, serán nuestro mayor tesoro.
Se recibirán visitas en S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley, el jueves 13 de noviembre de 2025, de 4:00 PM a 7:00 PM. El servicio funerario se llevará a cabo a las 11am en Glendale Cemetery en Bloomfield NJ
In Loving Memory of Our Mother, Lydia León Rivera
Born on November 15, 1928, in Cayey, Puerto Rico, our beloved Lydia León Rivera, affectionately called "May" by her children, passed away on November 9, 2025, in North Arlington, New Jersey, at the age of 96, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the blessing of knowing her.
She was a serene, wise, and strong woman, devoted entirely to her home and family. Her life was a true example of unconditional love and deep faith.
Widow of Don Teófilo León, she was the mother of ten children, and her legacy lives on today in each of them - in her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren - who continue to reflect the love of God and the strength that defined her.
Although her passing leaves a great void, her spirit and her teachings will remain with us always.
Rest in peace, May. Your love, your strength, and your faith will forever be our greatest treasure.
Visitation will be held at S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley, on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield, NJ.
