Lydia Mae Taylor, affectionately known as Grandma Mae, passed away on February 14, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on August 8, 1952, in Garden City, Kansas, Lydia lived a fulfilling life dedicated to her family and community. As a homemaker, she embraced her role with grace and joy, creating a warm and loving environment for her loved ones.
Lydia’s passion for life was reflected in her hobbies and interests. She cherished traveling with her husband, Johnny Taylor, and their grandchildren, exploring the beauty of national parks and engaging in spirited church revivals. Being surrounded by her beloved dogs and family brought her immense happiness.
Lydia leaves behind her devoted husband, Johnny Taylor, and her children; daughter, Trisha (Leach) Taylor and sons, Jeremy Taylor and his wife Kerri, and Brian Taylor and his wife Diana; her grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon, Natalie, Kisten, Kacy, and Hannah; and her great-grandchildren, Payton, Addison, Radley, Sebastian, Micah, and Sadie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Della and Walter Knight, along with her beloved aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held on February 18, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Westside Holiness Church, located at 2950 N. OK-88, Claremore, Oklahoma. A funeral service will be held the following day, February 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Westside Holiness Church. Burial will be at Buffington Cemetery after the service. Officiating will be Minister Jimmy Millikin, and also speaking will be Darrell Meadow. Pallbearers are Jeremy Taylor, Brian Taylor, Jeff Dover, Denny Haddox, Kacy John Taylor, and Levi Dobrinski. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Andrews, Brandon Leach, and Jesse Hughes.
