Edward Aluxek

HOLYOKE- Edward J. Aluxek, 81, of Holyoke, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at his home. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Stephen and Eva (Nastunowicz) Oleksiuk and graduated from Holyoke Trade School. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War, and had been employed as Supervisor of Maintenance at James River Graphics, retiring in 1990. Edward was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, and former Vice-President of the Holyoke Golden Agers. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lorraine L. (Boucher) Aluxek, six children: Edward J. and his wife Jeanne of Michigan, Stephen D. and his wife Cheryl of Holyoke, Michael R.of Blandford, Diane M. Aluxek and her life partner Kevin O’Brien of Dover N.H., Donna A. Hall and her husband Bruce of Chicopee, Dawn M. Besnia and her husband Jeffrey of Belchertown, 9 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, two sisters: Josephine Chalmers of Chicopee and Rose Stepno of Holyoke, and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 21, 2010 at 10:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. There are no calling hours.
