Lyle Benjamin Stolzman, 81, of Grundy Center, formerly of Conrad, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial for Lyle will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Parrish- St. Henry Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Lyle Stolzman was born on February 16, 1945 in Marshalltown to Harry and Bernadine (Kopel) Stolzman. Lyle grew up in Haverhill. He graduated from St Mary School in 1963. Lyle served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1969. On August 21, 1970, Lyle was united in marriage to Jaclyn “Jacky” Tranbarger at First Methodist Church in Marshalltown. Lyle had worked at Fisher Control for forty-two years, retiring in 2010. He also drove a school bus for ten years for BCLUW. Lyle was a fifty year member of the American Legion and the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) Chapter 675. Lyle enjoyed fishing, reading about history and was an avid dog lover. He loved to “tinker” with things, and was a great handyman. Lyle and Jacky even built their own airplane that took them almost ten years. Lyle loved his family and friends, and will be missed.
Lyle is survived by his wife of fifty-five years- Jacky. Children: Stacy (Scott) Cizek of Conrad and Casey (Steph) Stolzman of Grundy Center. Grandchildren: Terra (Tyler) Lyon of Johnston, Taylor Cizek of Denver, Colorado, Thomas Cizek of Conrad and Mya, Maycee and Mylee Stolzman of Grundy Center. Lyle is also survived by his siblings: Joyce (Mel) Stalzer of Zearing, Jean (Tom) Ronnfeldt of Bloomington, Minnesota along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
Lyle is preceded in death by his parents: Harry and Bernadine; siblings: Bill (Dorothy) Stolzman and Jody Rosenbalm, and his grandson: Quinn Stolzman
