Lyman W. Depner, was born July 24, 1932, in Oconto Falls, WI, son of the late Christ and Helen (Schlack) Depner. He was a 1951 graduate of Menasha High School. Lyman married Joan Wolff on January 17, 1953, at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Menasha. He was formerly employed by the Menasha Fire Department, U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and retired from Trammel Crow Co, Dallas, TX. Lyman was involved in the Lakewood McCaslin Lions organization and St Mary’s Church activities. He took great pleasure in coaching grade school basketball at St Patrick’s in Menasha. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Joan; daughter Debra Depner; sons: Steven (Deborah) Depner, and Jay (Cheryl) Depner; six grandchildren: Rebecca (Nick) Carlson, Lucas (Robyn) Depner, Melissa (Tyler) Tassau, Sarah Turner, Madison (Jon) Ernst, and Maci (Bryce) Amos; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters: Emma Schwartz, Elsie Opsahl, Ann Kane, Stella Meyer, Martha Muenster and infant Elinora; six brothers: Arthur, Orville, Norman, Elmer, Norwood and Edward as well as special grandson Bradley J. Turner.
A memorial service for Lyman is being planned and details will be updated as they become available.
