Lynda Sue McGlothlin

Lynda Sue Long McGlothlin, 67 of Lake City, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025 at the HCA Florida Lake City Hospital. She was born in LaPorte, Indiana and had made her home in Lake City since 1987 having moved here from Houston, Texas. Ms. McGlothlin was the owner and operator of Granny's Play House in Lake City for many years and was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship in Lake City. Following her retirement, she still provided child care for many children. She enjoyed motorcycles, exploring her Native American Culture and taking care of her dogs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Shirley Giougue Long; one sister, Donna Arteaga; and one grandson, Matias Ault.

Survivors include her children, Kenneth Ault (Tonya Townsend), Hartsell, CO, Lenny Long (Amanda Brinkley), Lake City and Miranda McGlothlin (Kelcie Woolf), Lake City; three sisters, Cheryl Griffith, Texas, , Susie Sermeno (George), Texas and Tina Hudek, (Trey), Virginia; six grandchildren, Madeline Ruth Ault Espinal, KenTon Slay Ault, Candace Long, Autumn Long Lambert, Lily Long and Jayce Woolf; and nine great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Ms. McGlothlin will be conducted on Monday, December 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM. A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
