Lynda Schrank Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 11, 2025.
Lynda Beth (Graves) Schrank, born June 27, 1934, in the piney woods near Old Center, Texas, lived a life marked by love, creativity, and connection.

After graduating high school at 16, she moved to Dallas with family. There, she met Wilburn Schrank, whom she married on June 5, 1953. Together they built a life filled with family, travel, and shared experiences.

As an Air Force officer, Will's career took them to the Netherlands, Champagne, Illinois; Montgomery, Alabama; and San Antonio, Texas. Each move brought new friendships and introduced Lynda to a variety of cuisines, sparking her lifelong interest in cooking and deepening her family's appreciation for food.

Later, the family settled in Lufkin, Texas, where Will began a second career in education. From there, they continued to travel widely, exploring the world while maintaining strong ties at home.

Lynda brought creativity into every aspect of her life. Whether painting, sewing, or gardening, she found joy in making things with care and intention. Her work reflected both her skill and her personal touch.

Her beauty was celebrated in her youth as a crowned beauty queen, but even more so in the way she carried herself-with grace, kindness, and a welcoming spirit. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and generosity shaped the lives around her. Her home was always open, a place where friends, coworkers, and loved ones gathered and felt at ease.

Preceded in death by her husband, Lynda passed away on July 31, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She will be laid to rest on August 18 in Aleman, Texas. She is survived by their three children, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Now at peace, Lynda and Will are together again in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
