LYNE COWDER Obituary

Lyne Ann (Brown) Cowder was welcomed into Heaven, Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022.

As a believer in Christ, she trusted He would be waiting to welcome her as she stepped into eternity. We have no doubt He made good on that promise to her.

Diagnosed with diabetes as a juvenile, the disease challenged her all her life, but it did not defeat her spirit.

She leaves behind her best friend, Carrol N. Cowder Jr.; they shared a mutual love and bond both fierce and rare.

She worked at the former FCI, Clearfield, and then retired from the WalMart DC with over 20 years of service.

God has faithfully cared for her unborn infants while giving her the privilege here of caring for and loving various feline family members through the years. She loved and spoiled them so well. Tenderness is a rare commodity these days, but she was truly filled with compassion and empathy for those who were hurting and weary. Her heart of gold remains though her heart of flesh was given back to her Creator. She will be so missed by family and friends.

Lyne was the oldest of three daughters. She was born Oct. 9, 1957, to William Edward Brown and Beverlee Ann Graffius Brown, both who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sisters, Lisa K. Kirkwood (James) of Clearfield, who was her final caregiver after she left the hospital and went on hospice care just one day prior. Our final time spent together was surely Lyne's final wish. Also surviving is Louette Heichel (Philip) of West Decatur. One cousin, Robert Cartwright, who was more like a brother, also survives.

She dearly loved her nephews, Jason (Kelly) Krise, Trevor (Robin) Krise, Caleb Heichel, and Micah Heichel; and her nieces, Kaylyn (Anthony) Robison and Jill Heichel. She was known affectionately by each of them as "Aunt Lynie."

On her behalf, as well as her family, we wish to thank the health care workers, hospice service providers, friends, and co-workers for the care, kind words, and acts of love shown through this difficult time.

A service of remembrance will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.

Lyne was a wonderful, caring woman. She and I became fast friends when we realized we had so much in common. She was great support to me after I lost my son and I will always remember her patience and love. She always had a smile on her face and her laugh was so uplifting. Home at last with your Lord and Savior. Rest In eternal peace. You will be missed!!
