Lynette Ford, 71, of
Mullins, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Lynette was born on June 21, 1954 in Marion County, South Carolina to the union of Arnold and Lannie Leonard.
Lynette attended Dillon County Schools and graduated from Lake View High School in 1972. She started working at Marvel Lighting Company in 1974. Shortly after she married the love of her life, her late husband, Leon Ford. They traveled the world together from Fort Bennett, Georgia to Franklin Germany, then to Fayetteville, NC where they resided until he succumbed to his illness. Lynette returned home in 1991.
She was loved by everyone. She was Mrs. Linnie, Mima, and Mrs. Lynette. She raised so many and took care of everyone, welcomed them with open arms. She was known for her warm heart, generous nature, and quiet resilience. Whether offering a kind word, a home-cooked meal, or a listening ear, she touched the lives of many. She will be remembered for her gentle wisdom, her laughter, and the way she made everyone feel at home.
Lynette accepted Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
A devoted mother, Lynette, leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and unwavering love. She is survived by her five children; Ondra Ford (Natasha) of Hope Mills, NC, Christopher Ford of Florence, SC, Lakisha Lynette Ford (her one and only daughter) of the home and her twins; Kendrick Ford (Danielle), and Patrick Ford (Michelle) of
Mullins, SC - who were the pride and joy of her life; a special daughter, Kwanie (Kwan Duncan); 10 grandchildren she loved dearly; special granddaughter, Kevisha (Nuk) that helped with her care; special grandson, Christopher Tyrice Ford; 5 great grandchildren; 5 sisters; Thalia Legette, Willie Vern Stackhouse, and Beatrice Cannon all of Syracuse, NY and Christine Bell and Bernice Legette of
Mullins, SC; 2 brothers; Sandy Leonard (Caulene) of Syracuse, NY and Howard Leonard (Evelyn) of
Mullins, SC and a special brother; Tommy Leonard of Syracuse, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her nurturing spirit and deep commitment to her family were evident in everything she did.
Lynette was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Lannie Leonard; sisters, Artie Mae Ford (Petie) and Callie (Spimp) McMullen; brothers; Pearlie Leonard, Jerry Leonard, Cleveland Franklin (Bozo) Leonard, and Shelley (Blackie) Leonard.
