Lynette Michele Johnston Esquino, 57, of Jeannette, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
She was born on June 29, 1968 in Latrobe, PA, to David and Linda (Dunmire) Johnston. Lynette is survived by her loving children, Lacey and Brandon Esquino and their father, Jerry Esquino; brother, David K. Johnston; nephew, Garrett David Johnston; and her companion, Alex Sami.
A proud graduate of Open Door Christian Academy, Lynette's spirit of service and her dedication to the well-being of others shone brightly throughout her life. Lynette's career was marked by her love for driving and her deep care for the many children she transported as a bus driver for Hempfield School District. Her warmth and kindness made her a beloved figure among the "bus kids," who not only saw her as their driver but as a friend and confidant. Lynette's passion for her work continued as she went on to drive for Westmoreland Transit, where she remained until her final days. Her commitment to her role and the relationships she built along the way were a testament to her loving nature.
Beyond her professional life, Lynette was a woman of many interests. She found joy in painting, bringing vibrant colors and scenes to life on the canvas. Her hands were rarely still, as she delighted in working on various crafts and even took pleasure in sewing. Lynette's curiosity and thirst for knowledge were evident in her enjoyment of reading about health topics, always eager to learn more and share her findings with others.
Gardening was another of Lynette's pursuits, and she approached it with humor and grace, often joking about her lack of a green thumb. Despite this, she found solace and happiness in the act of tending to her plants. In recent times, she discovered a new passion for canning, fermenting fruit, and juicing, embracing the joys of creating and savoring homemade goods.
Lynette's faith was a pillar of her life. As a faithful member of Cornerstone Ministries, she found strength and community. Her large collection of bibles was a reflection of her dedication to her faith and her constant pursuit of spiritual growth.
Lynette's legacy is one of love, service, and joy. Her impact on the lives of the children she transported, the colleagues she worked alongside, and the community she served will be felt for many years to come. Her laughter, her kindness, and her unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Cornerstone Ministries in Murrysville at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Bash-Nied-Jobe Funeral Home, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont (724-468-8381).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to the Cornerstone Ministries, 2200 Cornerstone Lane, Murrysville, PA 15632. Online condolences can be given at www.BashNiedJobeFuneralHome.com.
