Lynette Christine Schmitt, age 65, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on November 3, 2025. She was born on October 3, 1960, in Council Bluffs,IA.
Lynette's greatest joy came from being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Lynette was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Sandbothe and Verna Deal; siblings, Sandra Tuttle, Earl Tuttle, and Lori John; and brother-in-law, David Yohnke.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, David W. Schmitt, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership. Together they built a beautiful life centered around family. Lynette was endlessly proud of their 50 years together and the family they created.
She is also survived by her five children, David K. Schmitt (Annette), Heith Schmitt, Bridgett Junior (Jason), Jerrica Acciai (John), and Christian Schmitt. Lynette was a proud and loving grandmother to Alexis, Scarlett, Valori, Preston, Liam, Freya, and Remy; siblings, Linda (Ken) Thompson, Peggy Yohnke, Leonard Sandbothe, and Christie Walsh; along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, November 06, 2025. Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, November 7, 2025. The family will direct memorials.
