Lynn Daniel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Groce Funeral Home & Cremation Services - West Asheville on Mar. 30, 2026.
In Loving Memory of Lynn Griffith Daniel

Lynn Griffith Daniel, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and dedicated animal advocate, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, compassion, and unwavering kindness.

Born in Bethesda, Maryland, to Shirley and Frances Griffith, Lynn moved to Asheville with her parents as a teenager, where she found the place she would ultimately call home. She attended Lee Edwards High School before pursuing her education at Guilford College in Greensboro. She went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Sociology, a field that surely informed her lifelong dedication to helping others.

Lynn's professional journey was marked by a deep passion for artistry. While working at High Country Crafters, she fell in love with the craft of jewelry making. This sparked a highly successful career during which she became widely known for designing beautiful, custom wedding bands. Her talent and dedication led her to become a co-owner of Blue Goldsmiths in Biltmore Village, where her work became a permanent part of countless love stories.

After retiring from the bench, Lynn pivoted her immense energy toward her truest calling: rescuing dogs. She founded "Lynn For the Animals," an organization through which she worked tirelessly to save countless dogs and match them with their forever homes. In doing so, she provided a profound service to both the animals she rescued and the many humans whose lives were transformed by the love of their new companions.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Frances Griffith; her sister, Corinne Forgey; and her first husband, Geoffrey Seng.

She leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly: her sisters, Patricia Pankey and Ann Simpson; her son, Kelly Daniel; her daughter, Amelia Stamps; her son-in-law, Hunter Stamps; and her beloved granddaughters, Brooklyn and Madison Stamps.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, April 3 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

In honor of Lynn's lifelong commitment to her furry friends, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to her rescue organization, "Lynn For the Animals Rescue Squad." Donations and information can be found via their Facebook page.
