Lynn Marie Droptiny, Age 69 of Lake Orion. October 3, 2022 Loving mother of Erika Lynn (Rex) Burns and Stacy Droptiny. Cherished grandmother of Grant, Austin, Shane, and Kaylee. Sister of Sherry (Doug) Robins, Robert (Natalina) DuFauw, Don (Judy) DeFauw, Gail (Herb) Owens, Al (Joni) DeFauw, and the late Paul DeFauw. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Lynn Marie Droptiny (DeFauw) was born on March 26, 1953, to Marion and Alfred DeFauw in Detroit, Michigan. She was raised in Warren, Michigan, as part of a large Catholic family. She was one of seven siblings with two sisters Gail and Sherry, and four brothers, Bob, Paul, Don, and Alfred Jr. Her love of family was deep, and she would often share funny stories of their antics while growing up and while attending St. Mark's Catholic School.
Lynn attended Fitzgerald High School and was active in many activities. Her vivacious personality made making friends easy and created lasting friendships. She met her husband, Edward Droptiny, her senior year of high school. They were married February of 1972 and had two daughters, Erika and Stacy. Ed and Lynn chose to raise their family in Utica, Michigan.
Lynn went on to attend Macomb Community College taking medical classes. Afterwards, she worked as a medical unit secretary for several years while raising her daughters. In addition, she became a Certified Massage Therapist. Lynn's true love and passion was for the medical field and caring for people. In her later years, she cared for others with medical needs in their homes.
Lynn enjoyed being around people and was often the life of the party. Her bubbly personality brought so much life and fun everywhere she went. She loved spending time with her best friend, her mother, Marion. Lynn was an excellent bowler and was part of a bowling league for many years. She won numerous awards. In her spare time, she loved making floral arrangements and added a dragonfly to each arrangement as her "special" signature.
When Lynn became a grandmother, she was overjoyed and would light up when she saw them. Her four grandchildren are Grant, Austin, Shane, and Kaylee Burns. She had so much fun with her grandchildren and was the kind of Grandmother that would get involved and play along with them. Lynn and her mother would chase down Happy Meals in search of rare beanie babies or special toys to give the kids.
As we celebrate Lynn's life, please hold onto all the happiness that she brought to her family and friends. Lynn always had a big and generous heart. She will be deeply missed by all that loved her and the spark she brought will never be forgotten.
