Lynn T. Hardy was born on June 29, 1947, in Burlington, Colorado. He was the son of Thomas and Ella Hardy, and the brother of Bryan Hardy, all previously deceased. Lynn accepted Jesus Christ at four years old and his love for Jesus remained with him throughout the rest of his life. Lynn met Kathy in high school, and they were married shortly after graduation. Lynn and Kathy were married for the past 57 years, 10 months and 23 days. Lynn is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy; his children, Kent (LeeAnne spouse), Amy (Dan spouse), and three granddaughters, Kara (Kent), Angie (Amy) and Brisa (Kent). Lynn worked as a minerology laboratory technician and Lynn and Kathy also owned and ran a successful ServiceMaster business for several years. Unfortunately, Lynn suffered several back injuries and in 1992 the final surgery rendered him officially disabled. Lynn discovered a talent and love for woodworking, and he is well-known for giving away his intricate creations. Lynn is well known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He loved stories, jokes and he never met a stranger. Lynn was always quick to volunteer and help others. In 2013, Lynn, Kathy, Amy and Lynn's mother Ella moved from Colorado to Arizona. Lynn was diagnosed with dementia in 2017, and he fought valiantly but ultimately lost. Lynn will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Please honor Lynn with your laughter and good stories of his affect on your life.
In lieu of flowers, gifts or food, please consider donating to one of the following tax-deductible organizations in honor of Lynn Hardy. Any funds given through these charities is tax-deductible. Trent and Lynelle Blumenthal, via Cup of Cold Water – The Lynn Hardy and Ken Blumental families have been good friends since before any of their children were born. The two families met so regularly while their children were growing up, that Lynn and Kathy are thought of as aunt and uncle to the four Blumental boys; and Ken and Raelene are aunt and uncle to Kent and Amy. Trent is the second son of Ken and Raelene Blumental. When the Lord called Trent and his wife Lynelle to the mission field around 2007, the Hardy's were eager to help support them. Please join us in supporting this dear ministry to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. St Jude Children's Research Hospital – Lynn has always had a tender heart for children, whether he was teasing them or wanting to see them smile. Seeing any child with a serious health issue or just in pain always broke Lynn's heart. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital raises funds so that families of children with cancer or life -threatening disease will never see a bill. Alzheimer's Association – Lynn's family history is rife with Alzheimer's. The Alzheimer's Association is working to research this awful disease and provide treatment and hopefully someday a cure.
Lynn's Memorial Service will be held October 20, 2025, at 10:00 am, at Church on Mill, where Lynn and Kathy have been members for the past 12 years. Please wear something red, as that was Lynn's favorite color. Please do not bring flowers or food (serious allergies).
With the church's proximity to Arizona State University's Tempe campus, parking will be at a premium. For those who need hotel arrangements, The Graduate hotel in Tempe, Arizona is within walking distance of the church.
The Hardy's invite family and out-of-town visitors to a luncheon following the service. (See Amy for directions).
Church on Mill is located at 1300 S Mill Ave, Tempe, AZ. Map
