Lynn Langeliers Obituary

Lynn Langeliers

BILLINGS - Lynn Langeliers, 71, of Billings, MT passed away on November 3, 2023 with her children by her side. Lynn first shared her sparkly blue eyes and million dollar smile with the world on November 6, 1951 when she was born to Lester and Ethel Hageman. She grew up living the farm girl life in Rapelje, MT where she spent countless days playing outside with her brothers Donald and Joel. They always had cousins around and she was so grateful for the large extended family who has stayed close through the years.

After graduating from Rapelje High School in 1969, Lynn moved to Billings and attended Eastern Montana College. She married John Langeliers and moved to Grand Junction, CO where they had two sons, Shawn and Brian. After a brief stint in Helena, they moved back home to Billings and Lynn finally got her baby girl when Laura was born. Lynn's children were her pride and joy, and she made sure they had everything they needed and that they knew they were loved.

Lynn worked in several occupations early in her career, but after divorcing, she began her career in sales and was a natural. Through decades of working in radio and print advertising sales, Lynn consistently excelled and enjoyed dozens of lifelong relationships. Her success was not built through proven sales techniques, but rather the sincere care she showed for everyone she worked with. She was a friend to all, an encourager, and a dang good salesperson.

Her big heart extended past her business relationships. If you met Lynn once, you knew you could count on her as your friend. She had rich friendship circles and will always be remembered in these groups for the joy, laughter, and thoughtful gifts she brought.

Lynn's later years were filled with a passion for travel. She loved her trips with friends to see new parts of the US, but her greatest adventures were her many trips throughout Europe. When she wasn't traveling, Lynn spent as much time as she could with her family and friends. Her favorite title was Grammie, and her granddaughters will forever cherish the sleepovers, tea parties and snuggles.

Lynn is survived by her three children, Shawn (Angie) Langeliers of Billings, Brian (Sheena) Langeliers of Red Lodge, and Laura Langeliers of Eugene, OR. She is also survived by her granddaughters Sienna, Ainsley, and Savannah who she loved so much, her brother Joel (Brenda) Hageman, sister-in-law Marybeth Hageman (Donald), nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

A celebration of Lynn's amazing life will be held at a date in the near future. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that people make a donation in support of pancreatic cancer research or integrative oncology education.

Lynn was one of the sweetest, most sincere persons I ever worked with during my years at MSUB & hers at the Gazette. What a pleasure to work with. After our retirements, during chance meetings we would promise ourselves a European trip together, traveling being both of our passions. My condolences to the family.

Lynn has been my good friend since our days together at the Billings Gazette. She always had a smile on her face and a very kind heart. I cherish every moment I spent with her. I will miss getting together with her when I come to Billings. Blessings to her family whom she loved beyond her own.

Dear Laura and family. I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet mother. I became acquainted with her when you were in my fourth grade classroom and always enjoyed a visit with her even when we ran into each other out and about after you "graduated" from my class. As I remember, you were always as sweet as your mom possessing many of her fine qualities. You will miss her always. Carry her gently in your heart. I remember her as a gentle soul. Bless you and your family.

There are many like me who can say they had the pleasure of working with Lynn, because Lynn made work a pleasure. My heart goes out to her family and friends at this sorrowful time. Though many years have passed since our "radio days", her quick smile, the resonance of her laugh and that spunky squint in her eye insisted on crowding out my sorrowful thoughts at this time to make the day brighter. That was what Lynn to me, and how I will remember her always.
