Lynn Eddleman Mackey, age 71, of Pottsville, Ark., died Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Conway Regional Medical Center.
Lynn was born to Leo and Wanda (Riley) Eddleman on Jan. 3, 1954, in Hamilton County, Texas.
Survivors include her husband, James (Cheese) Mackey; two daughters Jamie Mackey and Day (Paul) Brock; her mother Wanda Eddleman; brother Mike (Jeanine) Eddleman; two grandchildren, Ethan Mackey and Taytum Brock; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
A 1972 graduate of Russellville High School, Lynn married her high school sweetheart, James (Cheese) Mackey, and they built a life of love, joy, and adventure for 55 years. After James graduated from Arkansas Tech University in 1975, their journey took them to Western Grove, Ark., where James was the high school head basketball coach for five years. James' coaching career then took them to Norfork, Ark., where he was the high school basketball coach for six years.
During their time in Norfork, Lynn enrolled at Arkansas Tech to pursue her bachelor degree. She temporarily relocated to Pottsville to stay with her parents during the week as she continued her education, eventually attending the University of Central Arkansas to complete her degree in physical therapy. Lynn started what would become a 34-year career as a physical therapist at Baxter County Medical Center in Mountain Home, Ark.
James and Lynn shared a supportive, loving partnership and encouraged each other to reach for their goals. Theirs was a true lifelong love affair, and their commitment was evident as they were always side-by-side, hand-in-hand, with smiles toward their future together.
Lynn and James returned to Pottsville in 1986 to be closer to family. They shared an entrepreneurial spirit that led them to establish and operate several successful businesses, including Mackey's Golf & Stuff, Galla Creek Golf Course, and Mackey's Catfish. Throughout these business ventures, Lynn continued her meaningful physical therapy career until her retirement in 2019.
Lynn was a talented and creative seamstress and crafts maker, and she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting, as well as cooking and gardening. She did all those things with incredible skill and flair. She loved traveling, seeking new adventures, and cruising around in her cherished 50th Anniversary Edition Thunderbird convertible.
Lynn leaves a legacy as a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, and nana. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Humphrey Funeral Service in Russellville.
