Lynn E. Mason, 75, of Tiffin, OH, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 surrounded by his family. Lynn was born on November 20, 1950 to Alvin and Marian (Boltz) Mason in Toledo, OH. Lynn was a 1968 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. Lynn married Phyllis Carr on March 20, 1998 in Orlando, FL and she survives.
Lynn served in the United States Navy from December 10, 1968 to July 9, 1973 retiring as a Grade ES rank. He earned his National Defense Service Medal, Veteran Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the RVN Armed Forces Muchgallantry Cross Ribbon. Lynn served in Vietnam in two tours. He was on the USS Oriskany CVA 34 where he worked in Meteorology and Navigation for two years.
Lynn then graduated from Santa Rosa Junior College in California with his associates in Carpentry. He was a carpenter in California for many companies. Lynn moved to Ohio where he continued working in construction until he retired in 1993 after many years of service. In retirement he worked for Heidelburg College in the Kitchen. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, building computers and his Dachshund, Andy. He was also a member of the Carpenters Local 351. Lynn loved spending time with his grandchildren and his family.
Lynn is survived by his loving wife of thirty-four years, Phyllis Mason, who cared for him, the last year and a half at their home, they were peas and carrots. His daughters, Katie (Joseph) Farley, Bellevue, OH, Tammy (Brad) Brown, Castalia, OH, Jennifer Maldonado, Sonoma, CA; grandchildren, Ashley Corbin, Brittney (Brandon) Butler, Bailey Farley, Joey Farley, Steven Metzker, Noah Metzker, Mackenzie (Colby) Adams, Trevor (Paige) Brown, Allyson (James) Conner; great-grandchildren, Adellin, Carter, Elaina, Addison, Oliver, Myles; sister, Janice Pflieger and nephew, Dustin Williams.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Doug Mason and Emily Mason.
Visitation will take place on Monday, December 1, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420.
Services will take place following visitation at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Private burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Lynn’s honor to Seneca Co. Humane Society or the AM Vets in Tiffin, OH.
