Lynn Edward Moore, 81, of Dallas, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025. He was born on December 27, 1943, in Parkersburg, WV. A loving husband and father, Lynn lived a life devoted to family and service. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kelley Ann Stricklin Moore, and their three sons: Neil Dorsey, Luke Evan, and Brady Lynn. He was a proud and beloved grandfather to Evan, Maya, Layla, Daniel, Luca, and Dean. Son of the late Estella Ruth Sleeth and Clarence Thomas Moore, Lynn was preceded in death by his sisters Kay and Marsha, and is survived by his brothers Tom and Ronnie, and his sisters Brenda, Lynda, Eva, and Karen.
Lynn dedicated much of his life to education, beginning his teaching career at Linsly Military Institute before joining the faculty at Bridgeport High School (OH) as a Spanish teacher, where he would go on to retire. He was a graduate of West Liberty University and earned a Master's Degree from the University of Dayton. His service extended beyond the classroom. Lynn proudly served in the U.S. Army for three years. He was an elder and Sunday School teacher at Dallas Presbyterian Church, where he worshiped and led faithfully for over 55 years. Lynn also held leadership roles as a representative of his teachers union and served as a soccer and basketball coach. In retirement, Lynn embraced his lifelong love of gardening, often seen selling fresh vegetables at the market and sharing produce with neighbors. He was active in the Lion's Club and found great joy delivering meals during monthly "Soup Day" rounds. His commitment extended globally, as he donated his time to help improve lives in Mexico and Guatemala.
Lynn's unwavering faith and servant heart touched all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness and service in his memory. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 16, at 11:00 a.m. at Dallas Presbyterian Church in Dallas, West Virginia.
