A Memorial Service for Lynne Dean, age 75, of Spirit Lake, will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 6:30pm at Spirit Life Fellowship Church in Spirit Lake. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 5:30-6:30pm at the church. A time of fellowship will take place immediately following the service. Lynne passed away on October 11, 2025.
Laura Lynne Dean, the daughter of Hilmer and Imogene (Baker) Martini, was born December 10, 1949, in Des Moines, Iowa. After graduating from Spirit Lake High School in 1968, Lynne went to Beauty School and graduated in 1969. She was a hairdresser/business owner for 40 years.
On December 10, 1969, Lynne was married to Bill Dean at the Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake. To this union of 51 years, they raised three sons.
Lynne was very creative and provided the spice of life! She loved being with people. The most important decision she ever made was to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior in the Presbyterian Church in 1978. She continued following Jesus at Spirit Life Fellowship. Lynne was very concerned about making sure that friends and family had a relationship with Jesus.
She is survived by three sons: Scott (Beth) Dean of Spencer, IA, Cory Dean of Spirit Lake, IA, and Doug (Kim) Dean of Jackson, MN; grandchildren: Sarah (Tim) Mowery, Isaac Dean, Sam Dean, Luci Robison, Weston, Kaitlyn, and Allison Dean; brother, Dennis (Carolyn) Martini; sister-in-law, Marilynn Hawn; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends.
Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, Hilmer and Imogene Martini; husband, Bill Dean; sister, Penny Lock; and brother-in-law, Mike Hawn.
