Lynne M. Trainor

Lynne Marie Trainor, 62, of Sparta, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Sparta, Wisconsin.
On October 24, 1963, Lynne was born to Wayne and Arlene (Gamerdinger) Birkeness at Franciscan Skemp Clinic in Tomah, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of Tomah High School. Shortly after graduating, Lynne welcomed her only child, Ruby Jimenez-Trainor, in 1983. Throughout her life, Lynne found great joy in creating heartfelt crafts for her friends and family, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, shooting pool with a local league, singing karaoke with dear friends, and most recently, playing bingo with her granddaughter, Aliyah. Above all else, Lynne's greatest devotion was to her family. She treasured her role as a mother and grandmother and later selflessly embraced the role of "mom" to her grandchildren, doing so without hesitation and with unwavering love. Affectionately known as "grandma to all," Lynne was a source of warmth, compassion, and unconditional love, which knew no bounds. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.
Lynne is survived by her beloved grandchildren, Devon James Trainor-Chacon, Aliyah Marie Trainor-Velasco, and Ariella Arlene Trainor-Jimenez; mother, Arlene L. Birkeness; siblings, Jennifer Rector of Naples, FL, Kathryn (Richard) Henry of Tomah, Robert (Kim) Birkeness of Naples, FL; nieces and nephews, Jacole Welch of Tomah, Clay Vann of Naples, FL, Danielle (Mike) Marczak of Naples, FL, Renee (Greg) Dudley of Wiersdale, FL, Erica (Nilo) Gonzalez of Naples, FL; special friend, Tammy (Rick) Ashmore of Rockland, WI; additional family member, Adela Lynn Velasco, along with other family members and close friends.
Lynne is preceded in death by her daughter, Ruby L. Jimenez-Trainor; father, Wayne A. Birkeness; nephew, Jeremy Birkeness; along with other family members and close friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home at 12 Noon. Pastor Mark Kahrs will officiate. Family and friends are invited for a time of visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial to follow at a later date.
