M. Skerstonas Obituary
M. Frances Skerstonas, 96, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
Fran, as everyone knew her, was born to Charles and Frances Stamm on November 9, 1929 in Bristol, CT. She married Albert Skerstonas in September, 1963. She and Albert built a house in Thomaston in 1964 and lived there together until 2008 when Bert passed away.
Fran enjoyed going to seven surrounding Senior Centers for lunch and programs. She chose which center to go to based on the menu for the day. She also enjoyed long car rides around the northwest corner with her companion, George.
Fran moved into Brandywine in 2024 to have a safe and more secure environment. In her 18 months there she made friendships and memories.
She was fortunate to have her good friends and neighbors who helped her care for her home, the Boscarinos, and her friend, Dave Wilson, who over saw her resources.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. om Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. Burial will be private.
