Sister M. Corinne Smollar Op

Dominican Sister of Peace, Sister Mary Corinne Smollar died in Waterford MI on February 6, 2022. She was born in Ironwood, MI on February 28, 1940 and entered the Dominican Sisters of St. Rose of Lima (Oxford Dominicans) on February 17, 1955. She earned her B.A. from Siena Heights College. She ministered at Holy Rosary Parish in Flint, MI, St Benedict's in Pontiac, MI, Immaculate Conception in Lapeer, MI, Holy Childhood in Harbor Springs, MI, Nazareth Home in East Chicago, IN, Little Saints Childcare in Racine, WI and Serendipity Childcare in Racine, WI and at the Oxford Motherhouse in MI and the convent in Waterford, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents Louis Smollar and Anna Pogodzinski, her brothers Lee Millette and Louis Smollar. She is survived by her sisters Kathy Doyle, Laurie Zeh, Marcella Kazmarek, Marie Radusin and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at St Benedict's Parish, 80 S. Lynn Ave, Waterford, MI on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Oxford Motherhouse Cemetery at a later date.
