Maria Cristina “Tina” Banson

April 10, 1975 – January 1, 2026

Maria Cristina “Tina” Banson , a devoted nurse, beloved mother, and a light in the lives of everyone who knew her, passed away peacefully at her home in W eymouth on January 1, 2026, at the age of 50. Her passing comes after a courageous and graceful three-year battle with cancer, a journey she navigated with the same tenacity and strength that defined her life.

A Life of Service and Adventure

Born on April 10, 1975, in Davao City, Philippines, Tina was the daughter of Abinafve V . Natad and Angelita Jayme. She grew up in Guadalupe Village alongside her siblings, Maria Margarita, Mario Ramoncito, and Maria Cecilia. A proud alumna of Stella Maris Academy of Davao (Class of 1992), she went on to follow her calling in healthcare, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from San Pedro College in 1996.

After passing the Philippine board exams, Tina began her career at Medical Mission Hospital. In 1997, her journey led her to the United States. She worked as a travel nurse in Florida, New  York City, and eventually Boston, where she spent the last two decades of her career. Her colleagues at Mass General Brigham—specifically those on Ellison 12, Lunder 6, Blake 12 Surgical ICU, and the IV V ascular team—knew her as a highly skilled and deeply compassionate professional.

A Vibrant Spirit

Tina lived by the motto, “Life is what I make it.” She made her life a masterpiece of energy, color, and connection. Whether she was with friends at a Zumba class, meticulously crafting greeting cards, out in nature, or hosting legendary parties, Tina did everything with "loud" joy and a witty sense of humor. She was a woman of many talents, from the delicate art of embroidery and crochet to the grand vision of interior design and gardening.

Her family and friends will remember her as the ultimate caregiver—the woman who took care of everyone, no matter what. She was described by those closest to her as "easy to love," a sentimental soul whose beauty was matched only by her intelligence and kindness.

Legacy of Love

Tina’ s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Raymundo Banson , and her two cherished daughters, Feliz Angeline Banson and Alicia Marie Banson , all of Weymouth. She also leaves behind her parents, Abinafve and Angelita, and her siblings, Maria Margarita Samonte, Mario Ramoncito Natad, and Maria Cecilia Natad-Mapagu.

As one loved one shared, "The world would be a beautiful place with many people like you." Tina’s legacy of strength and love will be cherished for as long as those who knew her live.
