Ma. Belén Magaña Hernandez, age 92, peacefully passed away at home on December 6, 2025. She was born on January 2, 1933, to Pedro Magaña and Ma. Trinidad Ruiz in Uriangato, Guanajuato Mexico. Ma. Belén was a beloved mother, grandmother, neighbor, friend, and sister who was surrounded by loving and kind family members. She married Eugenío Hernandez at the age of 22 and they lived in a small rancho in Mexico.

In the ‘80s they made the decision to immigrate to the United States where her beloved husband settled the family in the State of Missouri to plant a legacy and begin a new life in Kansas City. Ma. Belén left behind in Mexico sisters, brothers, aunts, and cousins to provide a better opportunity for the future of her family. She was kind, enjoyed cooking, gardening, and most importantly, she was humble and gave back to her entire family in ways that are priceless. Instead of working and having a full-time job, Ma. Belén chose to be a homemaker providing love, attention, time and kindness to her community. She babysat many of the neighborhood’s children, to give working parents the opportunity to seek employment and provide for their families. Ma. Belén was a devoted and faithful women who believed in the power of prayer to God and his son Jesus Christ. One would often see her praying the rosary.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers Pedro and Salvador, Ma. Belén is survived by her son Faustino Hernandez and his wife Ma. Socorro, their four children Luis, Tinito, Griselda, and Lorena, and her seven great grandchildren Berenice, Ulices, Valeria, Tino, Adrian, Sofia, and Isaac; her daughter Maria Hernandez and her husband Daniel, and their three children Andrew, Samantha, and Madeline; and three sisters Magdalena, Ernestine, and Guadalupe.
