I was very sorry to read of Connie Bell's passing. Let me pass on some history between our two families. It probably started with my grandparents, Dr. Samuel and Mary Ellis and Dr. Lyman and Elsie Missimer. They were great friends and card players and I can remember, as a child, the bridge and pinochle games at my grandparents' houses in West Philadelphia and Ocean City, NJ. Several summers, I drove a delivery truck for Dan's Market in Ocean City and most Fridays there would be an order to Park Place for "Mrs. Missimer". My grandparent's younger daughter, Virginia Ellis, was also a Hood graduate. I don't know if she and Connie were classmates, but they knew each other. When my parents moved back to the Philadelphia area from New York in 1960, I became a patient of Dr. Missimer. Our older son, Christopher, was a first grade student of Connie's at Haverford. Somehow my mother-in-law, Ruth Smyth, found her way into a bridge group of Connie's in Devon. I'm sorry that I have never met any of the younger generation.
