Mabel A. MacKenzie

Mabel A. MacKenzie, 75, of International Falls, Minn., passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 at the Falls Memorial Hospital. Mabel was born on June 28, 1932 in Coleraine, Minn., to Amanda (Porter) and Peter Paul. She graduated from Greenway High School in 1950. She was employed at Minnesota Power in Coleraine until her marriage to Donald MacKenzie on Dec. 28, 1952 in the Methodist Church in Coleraine. Mabel and Don lived in Virginia, Minn., until March of 1977 when they moved to International Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Amanda Paul; sisters, Ella Karppi of Coleraine and Jean Langolf of St. Clair Shores, Mich. Mabel is survived by her husband, Donald of 55 years of International Falls, Minn.; her daughters, Donna (Dennis) Lehtinen of Finland, Minn., Cheryl Lickteig of Atlantic, Iowa, and Lori (Dr. Gary) Potter of International Falls, Minn.; sons, Roderic MacKenzie and Kenneth (Sandy) MacKenzie both of International Falls, Minn.; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sisters, Joy Haasis of Foxboro, Wis., and Joyce Walls of Richfield, Minn.; brother, Roy Paul of Granada Hills, Calif.; and sister-in-law, Norma Nekich of Virginia, Minn.; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mabel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved playing bridge with her many friends and adored spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. PRIVATE MEMORIAL SERVICE:will be held for family only following Mabel's wishes. Memorials would be preferred to any charity of your choice in Mabel's memory.
