Mabel Rios Obituary
June 25, 1943 - August 8, 2024
Santa Fe - Mabel L. Rios, age 81, passed away following a brief illness. She died peacefully on August 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She grew up in Chamizal, NM, and moved to Santa Fe in 1964 to marry her husband, Juan Rios, and there together they raised their family.
Mabel was a kind, loving, and generous person who will always be treasured by her family as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Juan, her parents, Diego and Matilde Lovato; siblings: Baby Mary, Jessie, Felicita, Diana (Fred), Diego Jr., Franklin, Rufino (Gloria), Elizaida, Mary, and Ernesto; great-grandson: Ezequiel; In-laws: Jesus and Teresa Rios, Rudy, and Mary.
She is survived by her children: Andres, Antonio (Kathy), and Isabel (Tim); By her grandchildren: Juan Diego, Gabriela (Josh), Luisa (Alejandro), Maria, Alexis, and Isaiah; great-grandchildren: Joy, Evelette, Ariella, and Adan; Siblings: Elsie (Oliver), Virginia, Gloria (William), Ubaldo (Jane), Neomi (Timmy), and Donald (Diana); Stepson Juan Jr. (Estevan); In-laws: Frances, Cecilia, Socorro, Leon (Milee), Rita (Sam), Doug, and Donna; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Visitation will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 26 at Berardinelli Mortuary, followed by a celebration of life. On Tuesday, August 27: Rosary at 10:30, followed by Mass at 11:00 at Crist Rey Church, with burial at the National Cemetery at 1:00. A reception will follow at Cristo Rey Hall.
