Mabel Wilson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 26, 2025.
Mother Elder Mabel Proctor Wilson, affectionately known as Mother Wilson, was a beacon of love and faith in her community. Born on June 20, 1939, in the comfort of her family home, she embarked on a life journey that would touch many hearts and souls. On November 19, 2025, Mother Wilson was called to her heavenly abode, leaving behind a legacy of courage, love, and unwavering devotion to her faith.
She was the revered Church Mother at House of Prayer Pentecost Church, where her presence was a source of comfort and inspiration. Her unwavering commitment to her faith was evident in her every action and word, as she guided her church family with a gentle and steadfast hand. Mother Wilson's interests were an extension of her caring nature; she found joy in cooking and baking, always ready to share her culinary creations with those around her. Her love for going to church was not merely a duty but a passion that fueled her soul. She was a living embodiment of a loving, faith-filled, and courageous woman. May we honor her memory by living lives that reflect the virtues she embodied: love, faith, and courage.
Mother Wilson was a cherished daughter to the late Mother Mabel Ivory and Dan Proctor. Her life was a testament to the strength and resilience inherited from her parents. She was lovingly joined in marriage to the late Embry Wilson, and together they built a life filled with joy and purpose. Though preceded in death by her beloved husband, her son Freddie Proctor Sr., her cherished sisters Elder Bertha Hills, Elder Mayretha Stubbs, Overseer Leola Richardson, Apostle Beatrice McKinkey, Barbara Paul, her brother Sammy Gayle, and her precious grandchildren Patricia Proctor, Tyshawn Lang and Freddie Proctor Jr., her spirit remains a guiding light for all who knew her.
Mother Wilson's life was enriched by her surviving children, Dan (Zell) Proctor of Thonotassassa, FL, Willis Lang Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert Lang Sr. of Virginia Beach, VA, Elder Erma (Lawrence) Rolle of Ft. Pierce, FL and Dorothea Wilson of Tuscaloosa, AL. Her legacy continues through her loving sisters, Elder Frances Rhodes-Hicks of Sacramento, CA, Prophetess Mary Cox of Ft. Pierce, Missionary Peggy (Ulysses) Neal, General Elder Roberta Williams of Ft. Pierce, and her brother, Elder Harry (Sara) Reese of Ft. Pierce. Mother Wilson's life is celebrated by her 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, and a beautiful bunch of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors who will carry her memory in their hearts.
