Mable White, age 86, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, in Buffalo, New York. Remembered for her kindness, grace, and warm, welcoming spirit, Mable was a devoted mother, proud grandmother, and cherished friend whose life touched all who knew her. Born on June 10, 1939, in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, to Roosevelt and Isabel White, Mable moved with her family to Buffalo. She was educated in the Buffalo Public School system, attending P.S. 32, P.S. 6, and Riverside High School.
Mable built a meaningful and fulfilling career through decades of dedicated service. She worked at the YMCA of Buffalo and Erie County for seven years, where her kindness and compassion made a lasting impact. She later joined the City of Buffalo Office of Strategic Planning, where she proudly served for 34 years.
Outside of her work, Mable found joy in the people and passions she loved most. She cherished time with her family and friends, and she expressed her vibrant personality through her love of makeup, fashion, and jewelry. Her elegance, warmth, and signature sense of style made her unforgettable.
Mable is survived by her son, Mark Porter, his wife, Kathy Porter, and by her beloved granddaughters, Taylor Porter, and Mia Porter. She also leaves behind dear friends and family who enriched her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will remain a blessing.
Relatives and friends may visit the Lombardo Funeral Home (Northtowns Chapel) 885 Niagara Falls Blvd. near Eggert/Sheridan Dr. on Monday from 10-11 o'clock. A Prayer Service will immediately follow. Entombment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Condolences may be made on this page.
