I met Mac in Casper Wyoming when I first hired on with the company in 1980. Mac was one of my mentors, and I fondly remember spending time with him on a drilling rig in Utah, drilling a deep exploration well in the Overthrust Belt. Mac always had a calm manner, impish smile, and great sense of humor. Our career paths crossed only a few times after that, but I cherish the memories.
