In memory of Mack, beloved beekeeper, husband, father, and friend:
In fields of gold where honey flows,
Where heaven's breeze through blossoms blows,
A gentle soul now walks in light,
Beyond the veil, beyond the night.
With steady hands and quiet grace,
He faced the swarm, the hidden place-
Water meters, walls, and beams,
He chased the hum of sacred dreams.
Beside him stood a faithful crew,
And I was blessed to be there too.
We laughed, we worked, we shared the load,
Through buzzing paths and country roads.
And when the day was finally done,
With bees subdued and battles won,
He'd smile and say with humble smirk:
"Well, that's good enough for government work."
But heaven's not a place of rules,
No forms to file, no earthly tools-
Just love poured out in perfect grace,
Where Mack now dwells in sweet embrace.
Donetta's prayers, Madison's tears,
Are gathered close by angel ears.
Their love for him will never fade,
Though time may pass and hearts be swayed.
For in the Lord's eternal hive,
Mack's spirit hums, alive, alive-
A keeper still, of peace and light,
In gardens blooming ever bright.
So when I tend my bees alone,
And hear the hum, the undertone,
I'll smile and whisper through the murk:
"Well, that's good enough for glory work."
