Mack Duffy McBroom, age 87, of Mandeville, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026. He was born on February 17, 1939, in Urania, Louisiana.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Judith Kaye Estess McBroom; son, Mark McBroom (Ginger); grandson, Max McBroom and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William A McBroom Sr and Vergie Elliott McBroom; and siblings Marvin "Jug" McBroom, Betty Jo McBroom Falgout, William Adolf McBroom Jr, Ford Elliott McBroom, and Sarah Belle McBroom Foxworth.

Mack McBroom, a lifelong resident of Louisiana and a dedicated public servant, passed away March 13, 2026. A proud Veteran, Mack served as a paratrooper in the US Army (Troop B, 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry) before returning home to build a distinguished career. He spent many years at Monsanto in Luling before transitioning to public service as the Risk Assessment and Safety Director for St. Charles Parish. Even in his later years, Mack's expertise was sought after by subcontractors for the US Army Corps of Engineers. Above all his professional achievements, Mack was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving bride of 65 years, Judy, their son Mark, and daughter in law, Ginger, and his only grandchild, Max, who was the light of his life.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. McBroom may be made to Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM. Inurnment will be at a later date.
