Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. Makenzie was an amazing person. She was beautiful and funny. Although we only know each other from the beginning of 5th grade we became friends quickly and she soon became one of my best friends. I was not able to attend the memorial. I miss her so much. I miss her smile and her laugh and I think I speak for everyone when I say she was taken too soon. She is and always will be my hero. The day I heard the news I broke down. I wrote a poem in memory of her sadly the original copy was lost and the new version was not as good.
I came to school as happy as pie
then heard some news that made me cry
now knowing that she is dead
I just sit there and hang my head
they take me out but I'm still sad
thinking of this friendship that I once had
tears are falling to the ground
I see sadness all around
I cry and cry all night long
nothing makes me feel better
not a single song
I miss her so much
I can hardly see
through these tears
that were made by me

A trooper;
A winner;
A star
Shining bright...
I pray
You find rest
And content
This sweet night.
Mack, I love you. It's almost been a year without you. I miss you every day-- your smiles, your texts, your bravery, your everything. No one will ever, ever, EVER be like you. Stay perfect, angel.
