Mackenzie Alexis Berlin

Mackenzie Alexis Berlin, age 19, of Haleyville passed away February 27, 2026, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, Alabama.

She was born June 26, 2006, to Mark Benefield and Brooke Berlin in Winfield. Mackenzie was a great mother and worked multiple jobs to support her loving family. She loved and cherished her family above all else.

Visitation will be Sunday March 8, 2026, from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Brother Shane Long will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery in Phil Campbell.

Mackenzie is survived by her grandparents, Sammy and Bridget Colburn; father, Mark Benefield; mother, Brooke Berlin; significant other, Luke Melton; son, Drake Melton; daughter, Everleigh Kate Melton; brothers, Dustin Benefield, Bentley Benefield, River, and Britton Barnes; sisters, Emma Mae Differding, Remi, Kassie Benefield, and Vanessa Benefield; and a host of cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Randall Johnson; great-grandfather, Johnny Colburn; great-grandparents, Fred and Francis Dodson, and uncles, Chris Berlin and Vernon Colburn.
