Macy Lou Olsen, 84, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on December 7, 2025, at home with family by her side.
Macy was born on March 29, 1941, to Albert and Elsie Smith in Jolo, West Virginia. After graduating from Jolo High School in 1959, she enlisted in the United States Air Force as a telephone operator.
While stationed in Louisiana at Barksdale AFB, Macy met the love of her life, John, and they wed August 18, 1961. They were blessed with three children: David, Myra and Scott.
Macy was a devoted wife and mother and spent her time being an amazing homemaker. She was very talented at many things. She was a great cook, seamstress, cake decorator, furniture refinisher, wallpaper hanger, and ceramicist, just to name a few.
Macy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Shawnee. She loved serving and attending there until her passing.
Macy was predeceased by her husband, John Olsen; son, David Olsen; her parents, Albert and Elsie Smith and her brother, Spencer Smith.
Macy is survived by her daughter, Myra (Randy) Huff of McLoud, OK; son, Scott (Amy) Olsen of Boerne, TX; daughter-in-law, Holly Olsen; grandchildren: Joshua Olsen, Derek Huff, Miranda Huff, Ryan Huff, Faith Olsen, and Lindley Olsen; great grandchildren: Leah Schiltz, Bentley Olsen, Quana Huff and Everly Huff; brother, Bobby Smith of Alabama; brother, Julian (Judy) Smith of W. Virginia; sister, Donna (Jack) Lantz of Indiana; sister, Gloria (Rodney) Mitcham of Indiana; many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be scheduled and announced later.
