Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home - Enosburg FallsBERKSHIRE - Madeleine Benoit, age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford, VT.
She was born on January 10, 1944, in Enosburg Falls, VT, to Gabriel and Cecile (Dulude) Larose. Madeleine graduated in 1962 from St. Mary's Catholic School in St. Albans, VT. She married her beloved husband, Gille Benoit, on June 26, 1965, at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford, VT.
Madeleine enjoyed traveling throughout New England with her husband and later sharing those adventures with her grandchildren. She had a deep love for baking and crafting of all kinds, including painting, sewing, and knitting. Many of her handmade creations can be found decorating the homes of family members. Above all else, Madeleine cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Christopher Benoit and his wife Kelly; Gregory Benoit and his wife Stephanie; and Renee Benoit and her significant other, Dwayne Feeley. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jacob Benoit and his wife Kaitlin; Ian Benoit and his significant other, Lily Brown; Alexandria Benoit; and Samuel Benoit; as well as her great-grandchildren, Clara, Grace, and Colt Benoit.
Madeleine is also survived by her siblings: Diane Parent and her husband Robert; Joyce McCrary and her husband Daryl; Denise Hand; and her brother David Larose; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Suzanne Selby and Ginette Pigeon and her husband Donald; and her brother-in-law, Pierre Benoit and his wife Betty.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gille Benoit; her nephew, Matthew Parent; and her brothers-in-law, Robert Hand and John Selby.
Friends and family are invited to attend Madeleine's funeral service on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford, VT. Burial will take place in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Madeleine's memory may be made to the Franklin Homestead and Carriage House (142 Homestead Drive, Franklin, VT 05457) or Our Lady of the Meadows (1 Pinnacle Drive, Richford, VT 05476).
