Middleburgh- Madeline R. Larson, 89, formerly of Middleburgh and Oceanside, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2023 on her favorite family holiday.
Born Dec. 5, 1934 in Ozone Park, NY, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Matilda (Baur) Buckheit.
For 25 years Madeline lived in Middleburgh, prior to which she and her husband resided in Oceanside. Valuing family was her priority and that which she loved the most. Spending holidays with all the family, sharing meals and gift giving brought her so much joy. She also loved the beach, boating, picnicing, bowling,bingo and in her later years playing cornhole. Madeline played outside games and board games with the grandchildren. Taking the grandchildren to amusement parks and shopping were some of her joyous times.
Madeline had a strong faith and attended Sunday mass on a regular basis.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry J. Larson, and infant son, Eric.
Cherishing their memories are her sons: Scott (Tatiana) Larson of Gilboa and Ian (Valarie) Larson of Oceanside; 7 grandchildren: Jarrett (Marion), Kelcy (Corey), Christian, Carolyn, Amanda (Andrew), Brittany and Shawn; 3 great-grandchildren: Nico, Rosie and Valentina and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held from 6:30PM to 8:30PM on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with Rev. Joseph Arockiasamy as celebrant. Cremation will follow and inurnment will take place at a later date with her beloved husband in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Madeline's memory made be made to the Northeast Alzheimer's Association, 103 New Loudon Road, Cohoes, NY 12047 or Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany, 40 N. Main St., Albany, NY 12203.
