Madge Wilson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services - Parkville on Jan. 30, 2026.
Madge Sylvia Wilson was born on April 10, 1933, in Kingston, Westmoreland, Jamaica, to Siebel Bernard and Alfred Wilson. She lived a full and meaningful life of more than 92 years, defined by independence, faith, service, and deep devotion to family. On January 20, 2026, she was peacefully called home, surrounded by love.

As the eldest child, Madge was a naturally independent and curious soul. Known for her remarkable memory, she served as the defacto family historian-preserving stories, names, and traditions that connected generations and kept family roots alive.

Madge was educated at Infield School in Westmoreland. In 1968, she emigrated to the United States and eventually settled in Baltimore, Maryland, which she proudly called her second home, while always holding her Jamaican heritage close.

She devoted her professional life to healthcare, first as a nursing assistant and later as a Certified Medical Aide. Her career was marked by compassion, precision, and excellence, earning her numerous honors, including the MEGA Award. After retirement, Madge continued serving others through more than 10 years of volunteer work in local schools, receiving recognition from the Governor and AmeriCorps.

Madge's faith and church were central to her life. She loved cooking, cherished time with friends, and took pride in ensuring everyone was fed and cared for. Her home was a place of warmth, fellowship, and welcome.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Paulette Ruddock. Madge is survived by her siblings Desmond (Babs), Beverly and June; her grandson, Stefan; her great-grandchildren, Kade and Cree; her cherished niece Tammi and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Madge Wilson lived well, loved deeply, and served faithfully. Her legacy of faith, family, and service will continue through the many lives she touched.

To the Wilson family: Mrs. Madge was a very wise and upright woman. Her spirit was always such an inspiration. I can see the gates opening to welcome her, and I can see her walking in and standing tall. My heart is saddened, but it is also joyful knowing that I got to know her and spend time with her. Rest on my dear, for you have fulfilled your duty!
Family, may God give you the strength that you need now and in the days ahead. Love, Sheldia Jones
