Mae Nix

Mae Nix, 85 of Clanton and formerly of Talladega passed away November 27, 2021 at her residence. Funeral services were held 2:00pm Tuesday November 30, 2021 at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel in Talladega with burial in Pine Hill Memorial Park. Kevin Nelson and Jason Ledbetter officiated the service. Mrs Nix is preceded in death by her husband Eldred Nix, Father Charley Smelley, mother and stepfather Sadie and Eugene Stone, son Ray Nix, sisters Betty Carden, Marie Crabtree, brother Ronnie Stone. Mae was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and former charter member of Northside Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter Dianne Nelson (Perry), son Mike Nix, daughter-in-law Lynn Nix, grandchildren Michael Nelson (Heidi), Kevin Nelson (Amy), Rachel Denney (Shane), April Duncan (Adam), Brandon Nix (Jess), 11 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, brother Ricky Stone, sister-in-law Janet McDiarmid, brother-in-law Johnny Nix (Pat) and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Michael Nelson, Brandon Nix, Adam Duncan, Mike Crabtree, Dawson Dobson, Bill Dobson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Harless, Duke Martin, Jerry Nelson, Danny Wright, Tim Nored, Jimmy Pitts.
