Mae Pressel Obituary
Sadly we are announcing the passing of Mae E. Pressel, at the age of 96. Mae passed away in Glens Falls, NY on October 8, 2025
Mae was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 4, 1928. She was the daughter of Ella Rossiter Bamberger and Joseph Bamberger. Sadly, at the age of 3, Mae lost her mother and spent her early and teenage years at St. Joseph's Orphanage in Manhattan.
She married Robert J. Pressel on June 4, 1949, and had 3 daughter, Maryann Iarussi (husband Bob), Patricia Pereira (husband Adao), and Elizabeth Jennings (husband Bruce). She has 8 grandchildren: Melissa Barrows, Robert Chiste, Michael Cabral, Emily Pereira-Carney, Megan Pereira, Sarah Slinsky, Jody Jennings, Amanda Jennings, Nicole Hawes and Kevin Iarussi. She was also blessed with 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Robert, who passed on April 15, 2017, her sister Lillian Simonson, her brother Joseph Bamberger, and one great grandson Mason Colbeth.
In her younger years, she and her husband loved the casinos. They camped near Atlantic City and loved spending the weekends there. They also loved spending time with friends at the Elks club in Napanoch.
She lived in Greenfield Park, NY with her daughter Patricia Pereira until her death.
